MEET WES

Wes directs extensively in New York City and regionally.  Wes is an Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and a graduate of Penn State University’s MFA Directing program, one of the most unique and well-respected theatre education programs in the country. This highly competitive program accepts two mid-career directors every other year. At Penn State, Wes spent three years studying and honing his craft under the mentorship of Tony nominated director, Susan H. Schulman. 

 

In 2019 Wes assisted Tony Award-winning director, Matthew Warchus on the internationally acclaimed Broadway production of A Christmas Carol which transferred from The Old Vic in London. He also assisted Tony Award-nominated director, Michael Greif on Second Stage Theater’s production of Bess Wohl’s award winning new psychological drama, Make Believe. 

 

As the Resident Artistic Director of McLeod Playhouse, Wes directed and choreographed multiple productions each season while also establishing MSP’s highly successful Theatre for Young Audience program. 

 

Wes assisted Paper Mill Playhouse Artistic Director, Mark Hoebee on Paper Mill's 2013 production of Oliver! He also worked alongside award-winning documentary film and theater director, Kirsten Kelly on Chicago Shakespeare’s after-school creative youth development initiative, CPS Shakespeare! which was awarded the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award by First Lady Michelle Obama in 2014. 

 

Most recently, Wes had the opportunity to direct the regional premiere of Bess Wohl's Make Believe at Duluth Playhouse.
